In history this locality is know as Busovo Pole (Busovo Field). According to different versions, this name came from the name of mythical prince Bus or from the word ‘busol’ – one of Ukrainian names for stork that lived in huge numbers here.

In the past, it had various names: Busova Gora, Busovitsa, Buslivka, Busovo Pole. Tiny Buslivksy brook ran here, it was famed for it healing water. Zverinets – is a hilly locality to the east of the Dnieper and close to the territory of Novopecherskie Lipki. The name probably comes from the Kiev princes’ place for hunting for wild animals.
